Sunday "Senior" Stretch

Come join Dr. Angie for a gentle stretch in a chair on most Sundays at 2 pm.

Chair yoga offers a multitude of benefits, making it accessible and beneficial for people of all ages and abilities. It improves flexibility, balance, and strength, while also reducing stress and promoting relaxation. Furthermore, it enhances breathing awareness, improves sleep quality, and can even boost mood.

Blindfolded Yoga: Vision Beyond Sight

Coming this Spring!

 

Deepen your connection with your body and mind by removing the distraction of the world around you.

Wearing a soft sleep mask, you’ll be guided through a gentle yoga flow, followed by a relaxing sound bath,

encouraging the awareness and use of the senses beyond sight.

Inhale the aromas, feel your body, open your ears, and find your vision beyond sight.

Yoga flow led by Heather Edwards, President of the South Carolina Chapter of the Foundation Fighting Blindness.

Sound bath experience led by Jessica Henry.

Funds raised will be donated back to the Foundation

to further research to cure and treat inherited retinal diseases.

Meet Heather Edwards, a proud Myrtle Beach native who believes that yoga should be accessible to everyone! With her 200-hour RYT certification and a specialization in Yin Yoga, Heather is dedicated to creating a welcoming space for all practitioners, regardless of their abilities.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

As someone with low vision, Heather brings a unique perspective to her teaching. She focuses on providing clear, descriptive cues and adaptations to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and empowered on the mat. Her classes are infused with warmth and encouragement, making them perfect for beginners and experienced yogis alike.⁣⁣

Inspired by the beauty of her coastal hometown, Heather combines her love for nature with a playful spirit, inviting you to explore the depths of relaxation and self-discovery. When she’s not teaching, you’ll find her volunteering with the Foundation Fighting Blindness, working full time as a Finance Manager for a national nonprofit, Community Solutions, working to solve homelessness, enjoying the outdoors, or planning her next adventure.

Jessica Henry is a multifaceted wellness advocate. As a sound healing practitioner, Reiki master, and registered nurse studying to be a mental health nurse practitioner, she brings a compassionate, science-informed approach to her healing practice in which she blends holistic therapies to promote wellness and balance in her clients' lives. She is also an artist utilizing many mediums, such as photography, drawing, painting, sewing, and macrame, capturing the beauty of the world around her and infusing her artistic vision into every aspect of her life. Jessica is dedicated to helping others find healing and harmony through sound, somatics, energy, and creativity.
